The Blues Foundation zorganizowała ceremonię 34. wręczenia dorocznych Blues Music Awards 9 maja w Cook Convention Center w centrum Memphis, w Tennessee.
Największym zwycięzcą transmitowanej przez satelitarne radio gali był bluesowo soulowy wokalista Curtis Salgado. Dostał nagrody w kategoriach: "Soul-Blues Artist of the Year," "Soul Blues Album of the Year" za płytę "Soul Shot" oraz "B.B. King Entertainer of the Year".
